The Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge spans the Colorado River below the Hoover Dam. The view of the dam from the bridge is breathtaking. These days there are dams all over the world that are far bigger than Hoover, yet this old dam, completed in 1936, still inspires awe.

This is a gem of a bridge I discovered on one of my frequent random walks through Grand Rapids. It is mere blocks from heavy pedestrian traffic–close enough to stumble upon, but far enough away to seem forgotten.
