This is the Grand Haven pier beneath the Milky Way, taken in August. The bright object in the sky to the left of the lighthouse is Mars. The orange glow to the right emanating from the horizon is likely from Chicago (southwest of where this photo is taken).

Moonset/Sunrise

This was taken in Grand Haven, MI looking west, shortly before moonset (full moon) in March.  Sunrise was about a half-hour after moonset on this morning.  This is from the same morning as photos I posted a couple of weeks ago, except closer to sunrise from the east.  The sky was getting progressively bluer.
